About me

Welcome to my little place in the world!

I hope you love what you see here, and find inspiration to create what brings life to your soul.

A little about me and what I love:

JESUS – You’ve always been my greatest joy, most constant friend and the kindest man I have ever known.

JOSHUA – You are more than I could have ever dreamed for.

SISTERS – The ones I’ve laughed and cried with, dreamt of my future with, and had standing beside me on my wedding day. These people are priceless.

SONGS – It’s always a wonder to put the song of my heart into a language that can be understood by my mind.

PHOTOGRAPHY – I got my first camera at age fourteen after having expressed an interest in photography. A few weeks after I got it, my family took a three week trip west and I was thrown head-first into taking thousands of pictures. My love for photography since then has only grown as I study the huge diversity of artists and their styles of photography. To me, photography is how I show people what my heart is seeing. As my husband so beautifully put it, “Your pictures make me remember the beauty of the moment. They have a way of rewriting my own memories, so that I only remember what was good.”

COOKING – Having a history of two jobs as a chef at the young age of nineteen, it should be apparent that food is my thing. My first job was working for a food truck in Athens, OH, which was entirely gluten and dairy free. I gained the confidence I needed with food at this job. Two phrases that were commonly spoken by my boss were, “Oh, you know, some,” and “Does it taste awesome?!” The first would be in response to my question of how much of an ingredient to use, and the second was the standard we held all of our food to. The only food we served was awesome! My second job was working at a restaurant in Zanesville, OH, which was incorporating locally grown foods as much as possible. I loved getting to see behind the scenes of a restaurant, but I did learn that the high amount of stress that came with being a chef for a restaurant wasn’t what I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing. Now I’m doing what I always wanted to do, and that is to serve my husband delicious and nourishing food.

NATURE – Being raised on a farm, I spent my summers playing outside, helping in the garden and riding horses.

READING – I was a bookworm as a kid, and still am at heart even though I rarely pick up a book.
